What a day. Close to 200 people came through over the course of the day to celebrate the very first Lankan Cricket Fest 2025, and honestly, the energy and the sense of togetherness were hard to put into words.
This was about so much more than cricket. It was a real celebration of community. Some folks showed up to play, others came to cheer, catch up with people, and just be part of it all. However you joined in, you made the day mean something, and we are so grateful for that.
We couldn’t have pulled any of this off without our volunteers putting in the work, our community cheering us on, and our sponsors backing us. A big thank you to MVP Cricket Academy – Minneapolis and Lions Cricket Club – Minnesota for standing with us and helping turn this idea into something real.

The matches were only part of it. Families drifted between the food stalls, where you could grab kotthu, Sri Lankan short eats, ice cream, and cold drinks. Kids bounced around in the bounce house and lined up to get their faces painted, and live music kept the whole place buzzing from morning right through to the evening.
